Free Discussion Boards

Whilst developing my training website I have tried a number of free discussion forums that are available out here on the internet. And I've experienced mixed results. So my latest contribution to cyberspace is to offer my ratings of these free discussion boards.

Here's the list in order (worst first - I like to keep the best till last)...


boards to go rating... don't bother (*)

Aimoo rating... not a nice url (**)

Instant Message Boards nicebut doesn't integrate with site that well (***)

Delphi Forums I think this one gets a little bit too complicated (***)

Atomic Boards probably the best of the 3 star ones. Nice url. (***)

WwwToolz Integrates well into site, easy to use and no ads! (****)

Teemz Simply excellent, but you will need to run the cgi script on your site (*****)

Overall not a bad selection... it just took a lot of time to try them out.

IE versus Netscape

Why oh why do they display pages so differently? A site can look perfect in Netscape and hardly display anything but a mess in Internet Explorer.

Hmmm. Yes probably bad coding on my part. But there must be some kind of standard....
